Kakiku menapak di tanah Kalamansi

Tempat asing namun terasa tidak asing

Bukan!

Bukan ikatan historis antar negara

Ini lebih dari itu!

Ini adalah ikatan romantis sarat cerita

Penghubung yang lalu, sekarang, dan kelak

Enam bulan sebelum sekitar minggu ini, dua tahun lalu:

Otakku membuat keputusan

“Kan kujumpai kamu, wahai kawan!

Walaupun harus kutempuh ribuan kilo!”

Keputusan belum tentu benar.

Pun belum tentu salah.

Jatuh, bangun, pingsan, sadar aku dibuatnya

Sedih, takut, berkeringat, bertanya, mengampuni, melepaskan, menerima, gembira, tertawa, ha ha ha ha

Enam bulan sebelum sekitar minggu ini, dua tahun lalu:

Sebuah tombol mengubahku.

Sekitar minggu ini, dua tahun lalu:

Sebuah negara mengubahku.

Hari-hari ini, dua tahun lalu:

Sebuah cinta mengubahku.

Selanjutnya, bertahun tahun kemudian dan sampai selama-lamanya:
